Since 1997, the Festival of Ice has been the premier event of the year in the Juniata River Valley. 2013 will be no exception; however, the festival will be bigger and better than it’s ever been in the past 17 years.

Details will be posted very soon and brand new applications for activity, vendor and sponsorship are on the way. Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 5th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, December 6th, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The epicenter of the Festival is the specially decorated Historic Courthouse, on the square, in downtown Lewistown.

Watch professional ice carvers turn solid blocks of ice into beautiful works of art using chisels, chainsaws and blow torches. Enjoy live music in the courtroom on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse, observe the Sun Home Health & Hospice “Tree of Love” tree lighting ceremony, marvel at the Mifflin County Model Railroad Club working train display, tour the McCoy House museum, ride on horse drawn carriages with WKVA, WCHX and Star Country Radio, attend the live Nativity, join in the Christmas Caroling tour, visit with the vendors, participate in the children’s events, enjoy the new art gallery, see Santa at the West Side Gallery, cheer on the dance studio presentations, watch the kids have fun with the live animals and pony rides and take pictures of the Kiwanis Christmas Parade.
